I thought that would be in the end of the serial range of Ithaca but That is not the serial number. It is the Patent Number. The serial number is found below this number. The Model 37 I have has this patent number on it and the serial number is I would also like to know the manufacture date of this rifle. According to my records it was made in That is a phone number, not a serial number.

View Full Version : Ithaca 37 20g. I just got an older Ithaca 37 in 20g. If I read the codes right it was made in It does have a Cutts compensator on it. I racked it a few times, dry fired it, made sure the safety worked etc. It’s in really decent condition, everything is tight, no obvious metal issues. My question is and yes I realize it’s an open-ended question I’m really not sure what else to look for safety-wise.
I have never shot a gun with a compensator or a choke either. It should be ok, but I’d take it to a competent gunsmith for a detailed inspection, just to make sure.
